Tim Schröder Wissenschaftsjournalist Oldenburg

I am a freelancing science journalist based in Oldenburg, Germany, and own a diploma in biology and a minor degree in marine physics. After completing a two-year internship in a regional newspaper I worked as an editor in the science section of the Berliner Zeitung. Since 2001 I have been working as a freelance author, writing for German and Swiss magazines and newspapers such as Financial Times Deutschland, Neue Zuercher Zeitung or the German edition of Scientific American. I also work for companies and research institutes such as the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft (FHG) and Max Planck Society (MPG). My focus is on the natural sciences, technology, applied research, basic research, energy and the environment.

In 2011 I was awarded the prestigious Georg-von-Holtzbrinck Prize for Science Journalism. The Swiss media prize "Eugen" followed in 2012.
